MANHATTAN — The wearing of the green isn't just for St. Patrick's Day — it's been the hot color among New York's fashion set for months.
Vibrant yellow-green hues have been popular for the past few seasons in the activewear market, and now green seems poised to become a dominant color as fashion moves out of winter blacks, charcoals, chocolates and blues.
The runways for Autumn/Winter 2012-13 saw their share of green. Fashion-forward label Tibi featured metallic jacquard pants and pencil skirts, while Tory Burch and Tadashi Shoji showcased pine green sleeveless dresses.
Industry trend watchers report green is anticipated to have an even stronger presence in September 2012's Fashion Week showings.
Street Chic took particular note of the flowing floor-length green ensemble with a printed skin pattern worn by street style veteran blogger Peony Lim.
