BRONX — A man was shot to death on a Melrose street early Sunday morning, police said.

Lamont Edwards, 28, was discovered shot several times in front of 751 Elton Ave., near East 156th Street just before 6:40 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear what sparked the bloodshed.
