Man Killed in Crash with Truck on Rockaway Boulevard

QUEENS — An Arverne man was killed in a horrific crash in Springfield Gardens early Sunday morning that left four other people injured, police said.

The smashup unfolded on Rockaway and Brookville boulevards just after 4 a.m.

According to cops, a Nissan Maxima driven by Joseph Brown, 29, that was traveling south on Rockaway Boulevard rear ended a box truck.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene and three of his passengers, women in their 20s, were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

The 39-year-old driver of the truck was also taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, police said.

No criminality was suspected.
