BRONX — A truck on the Cross Bronx Expressway near the George Washington Bridge jack-knifed and spilled gallons of gas onto the roadway Monday morning closing two lanes, officials said.

The Shop Rite truck was pulled over about 11:45 a.m. on the highway between the Jerome Avenue and Webster Avenue exits, fire officials said.

"Due to a jack-knifed tractor-trailer, two of three southbound lanes on the Cross BX Expy are temporarily closed at Arthur Av, BX," the city's Office of Emergency Management tweeted.
