CYPRESS HILLS — A churchgoing 67-year-old woman whose mother recently died was struck and killed by a car at Fulton and Crescent streets Monday morning, according to the NYPD and friends.

The unidentified woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was pronounced dead after being hit by a 41-year-old male driving red Honda just before 10:30 a.m. while she was crossing Crescent Street, police said.

"She's a nice person," the woman's friend Olga Vega, 63, said. Vega, who works at the nearby Blessed Sacrament Church, said the woman attended the church every morning and was likely on her way to do so.

"She's very lonely," Vega added, saying the woman lost her mother four months ago.

Witness Ali Jom said the driver "slammed on the brakes" after the impact. Medics then worked frantically to try to revive her.

Police said the driver remained on the scene and that no criminality was suspected.
