MANHATTAN — In his first on-air appearance since being cleared of rape charges, "Good Day New York" co-anchor Greg Kelly, the son of Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, will talk Friday about the sex scandal that dominated headlines, reports say.

Kelly, 43, has been off the air since news broke that a 29-year-old woman had accused him of raping her in the Lower Manhattan law office where she works after a night of drinking in October 2011.

After an investigation, the Manhattan District Attorney's office announced it wouldn't pursue charges against Kelly, saying the incident did not constitute a crime.

He's scheduled to return as co-host of the popular Fox 5 morning program "Good Day New York" on Friday morning, where he is expected to speak about the rape accusation, the Daily News reported.

Kelly probably won't get into details, but he's expected to make a "broader statement" about his time away and thank viewers for supporting him during a tense period, the News said.

A spokeswoman for the station could not be reached immediately for comment.

On Wednesday night the television host broke his silence on the case, saying, "I'm very appreciative for all the positive support I received," as he walked out of Fox's East 67th Street studios.
