Five People Injured in Long Island Expressway Accident

Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the Long Island Expressway on Jan. 30, 2012, officials said.

QUEENS — Five people were injured, including one seriously, in a multi-vehicle accident on the Long Island Expressway early Monday, officials said.

Four cars crashed just before 8 a.m. on the westbound lanes of the expressway near Van Dam Street in Long Island City, fire officials said.

Four people suffered minor injuries, but one of the victims was seriously injured, officials said. They were all taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
