MANHATTAN — Madonna Badger, grieving mom whose three daughters and their grandparents died in a Christmas morning fire, has tried to kill herself, according to reports.
Badger was taken to the hospital last week after a suicide bid, WCBS/Channel 2 said.
A source told the station she "is now in a safe place surrounded by family and longtime friends."
Badger's children Lily, 9, and twins Sarah and Grace, 7, and their grandparents Lomer and Pauline Johnson, died in the blaze at her Connecticut mansion.
The fire is thought to have been caused by smoldering embers that were taken out of a fireplace because the children were concerned that Santa Claus wouldn't be able to come down the chimney.
