Cops Hunt Thieves Who Swiped Tablet and Assaulted Victim in Manna's

By Sonja Sharp | January 19, 2012 10:42am

Cops are looking for two suspects who swiped a pricey tablet from Manna's Restaurant in Harlem earlier this month — and then attacked the victim when he tried to get it back.

The victim, who is 39-years-old, accidentally left his bag at the popular eatery at 54 East 125th St. about 6 p.m. on Jan. 9, police said. One of the suspects, a sticky-fingered bag-snatcher, then lifted the bag — containing the HTC tablet — and took off.

The unlucky diner doubled back to Manna's only to find the bag was already gone.

When he tracked down the suspect and confronted her, another man attacked him, telling the woman to run. Then he, too, fled the scene.

Police described the male suspect as a man in his 30s who weighs about 170 pounds. They didn't have any information about the woman.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
