FLATIRON — Rapper and proud dad Jay-Z took a night off from diaper duty Wednesday to attend the lavish reopening of his 40/40 Club after a $10 million renovation — but new mom Beyoncé was a no-show, despite earlier rumors the pair might appear together.
The songbird has been out of the public eye since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter on Jan. 7 at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Jay-Z, on the other hand, jumped right into the limelight — and had plenty of pals to welcome him back.
“I’m just coming to hang out with Jay-Z,” Yankees pitcher Sabathia told the Daily News. "It's been a long time since I've been to 40/40."
Warren Buffett, Russel Simmons, Questlove and Nets coach Avery Johnson also stopped by, the paper reported.
