QUEENS — Maybe the Giants will have better luck.

Queens resident and Miss New York Kaitlin Monte was edged out in the Miss America contest Saturday night by opera-singing Wisconsinite Laura Kaeppeler.

Monte, 22, who is originally from upstate Rochester, was one of five finalists in the famed beauty pageant, which was held in Las Vegas.

During the competition Monte took on Occupy Wall Street, saying "if they’re going to come up and complain about a problem, they have to come up with some solutions, too," according to the Daily News.

Monte, of Astoria, wowed in a two-piece bathing suit in the contest's preliminary swimsuit competition, taking home top honors, the News said.

The brunette stunner, who finished third overall, graudated from the University of Tampa at the age of 19 and earned her first college credits as an eighth grader.

Monte is a professional actress who toured around the country with an entertainment band at 15, according to her bio.

And she hosted New Year's Eve in Times Square in 2010.
