MANHATTAN — Seven people were injured in a smashup involving a school bus in East Harlem Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities and witnesses.

The crash occurred at Park Avenue and East 104th Street just before 3 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The driver of the car involved in the accident, who gave her name only as Tarji, 48, said that she was headed back to the Bronx after picking her daughter up from school when she saw a flash of yellow.

"I was so afraid. I had my daughter in front," she said. "She started crying and screaming."

Tarji said that she slammed on the brakes before smashing into the side of the bus with her Toyota.

Seven people were taken to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries.  It was not clear how many of them were children.

It was also not immediately known if there was criminality in the crash or if any summonses were issued.
