WEST VILLAGE — Where is the Dark Guardian when you need him?

Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a Christopher Street video store at gunpoint.

The man walked into Vital Videos at 119 Christopher St. on Monday about 5:50 a.m., pulled out a handgun and removed all the money from the store's register, police said.

The suspect is described as a man, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-8, wearing a charcoal-colored jacket, dark hoodie and tan pants.

The robbery is the latest in a string of incidents that have plagued the West Village street.

In October, a man was charged with punching out the windows of a Chinese restaurant on Christopher Street.

And in May a group of unruly teens rioted in a Dunkin' Donuts on the street, overturning tables and coffee machines.

Police stepped up patrols in the area over the summer after concerns over the crimes.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), log onto the Crime stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by text 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
