UPPER EAST SIDE — Cops are on the hunt for a gun-wielding thief who held up a small pharmacy and health food store Monday, police said.

Police said the suspect entered Health Source Pharmacy and Health Food Store at 1302 Second Ave. near 68th Street around 12:30 p.m.

He then approached a pharmacist with a gun and demanded "narcotics" from the staff member, fleeing with an undetermined amount of drugs, according to the store’s owner Boris Niyazov.

The worker was not injured during the hold-up, but workers at the store were "shaken up," according to Niyazov.

Police did not immediately have a description of the suspect.

Store owners in the area said crimes like this were unusual for the neighborhood, but said construction for the subway has made the east side corner of Second Avenue feel more isolated and dangerous.
