Woman Shot in Abdomen on 116th Street

MANHATTAN — A woman was seriously injured when she was shot in the abdomen in Harlem Sunday evening, authorities said.

The victim, in her 40s, was hit by gunfire at 116th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard just before 5 p.m., according to the FDNY.

She was taken to a nearby hospital.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
