HARLEM — Police have accused a 19-year-old man of sexually assaulting a woman in Morningside Park.

Jason Harris, who lives on West 112 Street in Harlem, was arrested Tuesday. Police say he attacked a woman, 29, in the park at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Surveillance video of a suspect was released by the NYPD Tuesday morning.

The woman had been walking on the park's upper path, near 118th Street, when the attackers approached and had a short conversation with her, according to an alert issued by Columbia University, which is near the park.

He then allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The incident has renewed calls for increased security in the area, where two separate shooting incidents occurred in June.
