MANHATTAN — 2 Gold Street, the luxury high-rise that made headlines last year when one of its occupants was murdered, was the scene of another crime on Monday — this time a bank robbery — according to police.

Cops say a man wearing blue latex gloves was caught on security camera as he entered the Sovereign Bank on the ground floor of 2 Gold St. about 9 a.m. and forcibly moved a woman who was speaking to a teller.

He then handed the teller a note demanding cash and stating that he was carrying a gun.

The teller complied and the man fled the scene with an unknown amount of money, police said. No one was injured during the heist.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspected robber, who was last seen wearing a white v-neck t-shirt, khaki pants and white sneakers. He was holding a brown paper bag, authorities said.

They described the suspect as between 25 and 35 years old, with a heavy build and close-cropped hair. He is estimated to be between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-3-inches tall.

The bank is located in the building where a Pace University student was murdered in 2010. The 51-story luxury rental tower also houses a Potbelly Sandwich Works.

Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.

All calls are strictly confidential.
