Man Hit by Car and Killed Crossing FDR Drive Updated September 14, 2011 3:10pm

EAST VILLAGE — A man was hit and killed by a livery cab as he ran across the FDR Drive near East Sixth Street Tuesday night, police said.

Makever Brown, 22, of Avenue D in the Jacob Riis Houses, was found unconscious about 10:48 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Brown had been trying to run cross the road when he was struck.

The livery cab driver stayed at the scene and had not been charged with any crime as of Wednesday morning.
