BATTERY PARK CITY — The mother of a young boy abandoned in Battery Park City's Teardrop Park Monday morning has been taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, according to the NYPD.

Trevon Frazier, 3, of New Jersey, was left alone in the North End Avenue park at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, the NYPD said.

His mother was later taken to Bellevue Hospital Center by police Monday. She has not yet been criminally charged, they said. Police did not identify the woman, or describe the nature of her illness or injuries.

The little boy, who was found wearing a white tank top, red plaid shorts and black sandals, was unable to tell police his name, home address or telephone number, the flier said.

Police said the boy was identified by his grandmother and his aunt, and that he is being placed in the custody of the city's Administration for Children's Services.
