MIDTOWN — A woman was in critical condition after being struck by a car that jumped a curb and crashed into a restaurant on West 58th Street Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The woman was walking on the sidewalk in front of Seasonal Restaurant and Weinbar, between Sixth and Seventh avenues, just before 9 a.m. when a Toyota Avalon hopped the curb and hit her, the driver and FDNY said.

She was transported to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition just after 9 a.m., the NYPD said.

The driver, Albert Thompson, said he was backing his car into a parking spot when the crash occurred.

He added that the woman was conscious after the incident but could not say how his vehicle ended up on the sidewalk, citing a police investigation.

Broken glass covered the sidewalk outside Seasonal Restaurant and Weinbar on West 58th Street.

A witness who called 911 said he heard the woman screaming after the crash.

"Blood was all over her body, and I called the cops," said Nayden Balev, 45, who added the woman was pinned by the restaurant's glass door. "It seemed that her head banged on the glass."
