HARLEM — Police are looking for information about a shooting that left two people injured in Harlem Sunday night.

The shooting occurred in front of 2 W. 129th St., off Fifth Avenue, at approximately 8 p.m., police said.

One man was shot in the ankle and the other man was shot in the hip, an FDNY spokesman said. Both victims were taken to Harlem Hospital and are expected to survive, police said.

A witness said there were a group of kids standing in front of the building when a car drove by and a man jumped out and began shooting.

The wounded were dragged down the block to 20 W. 129th St. by their friends until emergency crews arrived, those on the block said.

Neighbors said they believed the victims were teenagers who live nearby. The added that there are shootings on the block at least once a week, and hostilities are often high once summer hits.

Detectives returned to the scene on Monday to continue to search for bullets.

They posted flyers asking anyone with information to call the 32 Precinct detectives squad or call in tips to 800-577-TIPS or go to the Crimestoppers website.
