MANHATTAN — Governors Island will turn into a quirky, interactive art playground for three days this weekend as FIGMENT returns for its fifth year.

The free event will bring back the ElectricBubbleBus, a gussied-up golf cart that turns into a roving dance party, and the Plastic Fantastic, a 16-foot geodesic dome made from more than 6,000 recycled water bottles.

There will be all-ages circus yoga, dance and hula hooping classes and something called Aqua Attack, where participants dressed as super heroes will fling stuffed animals at each other from opposing wading pools.

FIGMENT is also bringing back its mini-golf course, each hole created by a different artist. The course will remain open on the island, with two other interactive exhibits, through Sept. 25.

The volunteer-driven, non-commercial participatory art festival — which encourages island-goers to dress up in costume or bring their own games and art to share — brought nearly 25,000 New Yorkers to the 172-acre jewel of green space in New York Harbor.

The event is designed to "inspire everyone to really think about how they can bring something creative to Governors Island as a way to engage and interact with others," FIGMENT's executive producer David Koren said in a statement. "At FIGMENT, an artist is anyone who creates a framework for people to participate. And we are all artists.”

FIGMENT on Governors Island: Friday, June 10 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.); Saturday, June 11 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.); Sun, June 12 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
