LOWER MANHATTAN — Warm weather is finally here, and lower Manhattan is celebrating this Saturday with Spring Community Day.

Those who want to get their hands dirty can help the Downtown Alliance plant hundreds of annual flowers in Mannahatta Park on Wall Street from 10 a.m. to noon.

Across the street, the Andaz Wall Street will bring back its seasonal farmer's market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and passersby will be able to taste hotel chef Maximo Lopez May's free samples.

Then from noon to 2 p.m., the condo building above the hotel at 75 Wall St. will open its doors for a free rooftop story time for children, with cupcakes, face-painting and a balloon artist, plus mini massages for adults.

Meanwhile, up at the Bogardus Garden and Plaza in TriBeCa, the Tri-Battery Pops will lead the springtime festivities starting at 10:30 a.m. with their signature mix of pop and big band tunes. Stilt-walkers from Children's Tumbling will romp through the streets and kids will be able to do a variety of outdoor arts and crafts projects sponsored by local groups through 12:30 p.m.

Since Mother's Day is on Sunday, the Friends of Bogardus Garden will help children decorate flower cookies as presents.

Just up the street, the Torly Kid clothing shop at 51 Hudson St. will hold its annual hula-hooping contest from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. as part of its new Tween Shopping Soiree, which will also include music, giveaways and free French-braiding and manicures.
