MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a man in connection to a string of residential burglaries on the Upper East Side.

The man, who was caught on security camera, has allegedly struck eight times across the neighborhood in the past month. The suspect allegedly walks into unlocked apartments around the neighborhood and walks out with valuables, police said.

Six of the burglaries have taken place on East 82nd Street, including a total of three at 525 East 82nd Street.

The suspect, who the NYPD described as a black man between the ages of 40 and 45 years old, standing approximately six foot two inches tall, mostly strikes in the early morning hours, police said.

He was last seen wearing a dark cap, a dark jacket with a white insignia on the chest, a checkered button-down shirt, dark pants and shoes, and gold rimmed glasses, police said. He also had a dark goatee and mustache.

He does not use any weapons and no injuries have been reported in connection to the thefts.

Police ask anyone with information about the burglaries to contact Crime Stoppers or call (800)-577-8477 or text 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
