MANHATTAN — The mother of a six-year-old girl whose image was used on an anti-abortion billboard posted in SoHo last February has sued the Dallas-based group, the Associated Press reported.

Tricia Fraser, who lives in New Jersey, objected to a modeling shot taken of her daughter, Anissa Fraser, wearing a pink dress with a bow in her hair, being featured on the anti-abortion ad that claimed, "The most dangerous place for an African-American child is in the womb."

"I would never endorse something like that," Fraser reportedly said. "Especially not with my child's image."

Stephen Broden, a pastor and founder of the anti-abortion group "Life Always", which put up the billboard, said his intent was to show the impact of abortion on the African-American community.

Fraser, who filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, claims the use of her daughter's image was defamatory that the billboard, which was taken down a couple of days after it went up, was racist, the AP reported.
