MANHATTAN — Smoke filled part of a Newark Liberty Airport terminal Thursday morning after the engine of a moving walkway broke down, the Port Authority said.

Passengers were moved away from the area in Terminal C, though evacuations were not necessary, a Port Authority spokeswoman said.

She added that there were no reports of injuries or delays to air travel.
