MANHATTAN — Police have arrested a Brooklyn teen for a string of subway muggings around Manhattan.

Devante Scott, 17, of Brooklyn, was arrested Wednesday and charged with carrying out seven robberies between February and March at subway platforms on the Upper East Side, Harlem, SoHo and the Upper West Side. All of the victims were teenage boys, police said.

In all of the robberies, Scott allegedly struck up conversations with his victims inside the train and then followed them onto subway platforms where he would flash a gun or knife and steal their electronics, police said.

No injuries were reported in the thefts.
