MIDTOWN — A suspicious package closed a Penn Station subway entrance as the NYPD's bomb squad investigated the incident Thursday, officials said.

It was quickly discovered to be a bag somebody had left behind, a police officer at the scene said.

The bomb squad and firefighters were called to the entrance of the A,C and E line at 34th Street and 8th Avenue at 10 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

The entrance was only closed for a few minutes. There was no disruption to subway service.
