MANHATTAN — Service on the A, C, and E trains was disrupted Tuesday afternoon as police chased a suspect into the subway tunnel at the Canal Street station, the MTA said.

Those lines were diverted over the F train tracks between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metrotech, in Brooklyn, after 3:10 p.m., an MTA spokesman said.

Service was restored after 4 p.m., the MTA said.

The NYPD did not immediately have details on the incident.
