UPPER WEST SIDE — Two Upper West Side restaurants are closing their doors.

Vai, an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar on West 77th Street and Broadway, will close April 4, but the eatery hopes to move to another Upper West Side location.

Manager Richard Roman said the restaurant was closing because its building was going to be torn down and purportedly replaced with condos.

Vai is around the corner from Manhattan Diner and several other businesses that are leaving the block of Broadway between West 77th and 78th streets.

The eatery recently opened a SoHo location, Vai Spuntino Bar, at 105 Thompson Street, between Prince and Spring streets.

Up the block, Taberna, a tapas bar and restaurant on Amsterdam Avenue and West 80th Street, will close March 31, said executive chef Jennifer Cole.

Taberna's owners informed staff on Sunday that they had sold the business and would be closing the restaurant, Cole said.
