MANHATTAN — Police released a surveillance image of a man suspected of following a woman into her Washington Heights apartment and attempting to rape her.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning around 4:30 a.m., police said.

The suspect grabbed his victim, a 24-year-old woman, around the neck and told her to take of her clothes, police said.

When the woman refused, the suspect fled the scene, according to the NYPD.

The suspect was seen on a surveillance camera and is described by police as a bald man in his 30's who is about 5-foot-10 to 6-foot tall.
