MANHATTAN — Regulars of The Frying Pan, the Chelsea bar that's housed on a salvaged lightship, won't have to wait until its official May 1 opening to drink like a sailor.

The bar-on-a-boat will begin serving drinks on Thursday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, manager Will Drawbridge confirmed on Monday.

After that and before May 1, the venue will open on all nights that are above 60 degrees.

While Drawbridge said the bar, which offers beer by the bucket, won't be featuring any special St. Patrick's-themed festivities, he did promise "general drinking, mayhem and chaos."

The Frying Pan is located on the Hudson River's Pier 66, near West 26th Street.
