EAST VILLAGE — Police are searching for an elderly disabled man who went missing from a housing complex on Avenue D earlier this week.

Xiulong Zheng, 63, was last seen on Monday around 10:20 a.m. inside his apartment at 132 Avenue D in the Jacob Riis Houses, police said.

Zheng has slight paralysis on the left side of his body as a result of a stroke, walks with a noticeable limp, is unable to speak but does respond to the name "Xiulong," the NYPD said.

He is described as standing 5-foot-3 and weighing 125 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black three-quarter-length jacket, black pants and black shoes, police added.

Anyone with information in regard to his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-Tips (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES), and then entering TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
