CHELSEA — Makeup-minded women looking to mimic a celebrity's lipstick can now create customized shades on the West side, with the debut of Polish beauty giant Inglot's new studio store.

The space, located on the fifth floor of Chelsea Market, hosts a "mixing station," where women can work with an artist to blend hues and textures to create a shade that suits their own coloring and sensibilities.

The idea, according to makeup artist James Vincent, is to provide a solution for women who might otherwise be afraid to try a red lip, or a shimmery gloss, or think, "I really want that Angelina Jolie lipstick, but it's too matte for me."

"It's great for makeup artists, but it's also great for real women," said Vincent. "It's a much easier, much more affordable and accessible way to do this."

While the store is open to the public, it caters to professional artists, making it the brand's first U.S. studio space. Although Inglot has 250 stores worldwide, it currently operates only six in the U.S., including one at Broadway and 48th St.

Another key Inglot feature is the "Freedom System," which allows women to select ten shades for lips, cheeks and eyes, and stick them onto an acrylic magnetic board as they wander around the store. Then at the register, salespersons will place the ten items into one unique palette for $50.

"Nobody bothers you," Wojtek Inglot said of the Freedom System. "You can play, you can choose."
