MURRAY HILL — Upscale sports bar 1 Republik will be venturing across the Hudson from Hoboken with a new branch opening in Murray Hill.
The bar, which comes from the same people who own popular Manhattan sports bars Tonic and Tonic East, will be located on Second Avenue between 34th and 33rd streets, Eater reported. The bar will move into the space that was formerly the bar Underground.
The owners applied for a liquor license for the bar on Nov. 2, according to LocalBozo.com.
The Hoboken bar features 80 beers and an extensive food menu, according to its website.
