LOWER EAST SIDE — A pedestrian died after getting struck by a tractor-trailer near the corner of Delancey Street and the Bowery Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The man, 54, was hit by the vehicle about 1:45 p.m. near the busy intersection, the NYPD said.

He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in unconscious but stable condition, and died later from his injuries, police and fire officials added.

The incident was not considered a hit and run, and no criminality was suspected at this time, police added.

Bowery Boogie noted that a truck hit a cyclist at the same intersection back in October.

A recent report by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign ranked the Bowery as the fourth most dangerous road for pedestrians in Manhattan, noting that seven pedestrian fatalities occurred on the stretch between 2007-09.
