LINCOLN CENTER — Celebrities lit the runway red at Lincoln Center for the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Wednesday night.

Models ranged from relative newcomers to the celebrity scene like Audrina Patridge to history-making icons like Patti LaBelle, but all donned designer red dresses and came together in support of heart disease awareness.

This year celebrities included Natasha Bedingfield, Eve, Patti LaBelle, Suzanne Somers, Denise Richards, and Dita Von Teese.

The ladies hit the catwalk in red gowns from designers like Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta, and Zang Toi.

Each woman strutted down the runway with her own distinctive attitude. Patti LaBelle lipsynced her own song, "New Attitude," Suzanne Somers hit the end of the runway with a girlish heel kick in her mid-thigh dress, and in the audience, Matthew McConaughey cheered on girlfriend Camila Alves in a strappy asymmetrical gown by KaufmanFranco.

The show closed with a musical performance by Natasha Bedingfield, before all the women joined her on stage to create a sleek red glow down the runway in the group's final walk.

The designers donated their gowns for a public online auction at clothesoffourback.org, which ends on Mar. 4, to support the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health and women’s heart health awareness and research.

For the second year running, the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show started off the winter installment Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a red hot bang. Runway shows at the tents at Lincoln Center begin first thing on Thursday morning.
