EAST VILLAGE — The latest snowstorm is providing plenty of creative minds with a cold canvas for their work.

At St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery on Second Avenue, an inventive snow molder recently used the white stuff covering the church's grounds to build a snow-octopus, with its tentacles stretching toward the street.

The work rivals that of an ever-growing snowman on Canal Street in Chinatown, which has only gotten bigger thanks to the record snowfall this month.

Tons of snow sculptures also appeared in nearby Tompkins Square Park after the storm, as well as on street corners and anywhere else folks were feeling inspired by the elements.
