FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A woman lost her $400 Coach pocketbook after a thief broke into her gym locker last week, police said.

The 55-year-old victim, who lives in Brooklyn, put her purse in a locker at the Lucille Roberts Gym at 143 Fulton St. about 5 p.m. Jan. 19, police said.

The woman told police she secured the locker with a combination lock, but when she returned about 35 minutes later after working out with her trainer, she found the locker open and her black Coach pocketbook gone, police said.

The victim also lost a $150 Coach wallet, $180 in cash, credit cards and her MetroCard.

The same afternoon, a man who was working out at the Equinox gym at 14 Wall St. also had his wallet stolen, police said.

The 36-year-old victim, who lives in SoHo, told police he locked his wallet and iPhone in a locker at Equinox about 2 p.m.

But when he returned about 3:30 p.m., the lock was gone, along with his wallet and phone. The thief illegally charged more than $2,500 to the victim’s credit cards, police said.
