MANHATTAN — TV weather forecaster Heidi Jones claims she never told police she'd been raped.

The WABC/Channel 7 meteorologist is accused of making up an attempted sexual assault she said happened as she jogged in Central Park in September.

She has been charged with filing a police report after admitting to investigators that it didn't happen.

But her lawyer told the New York Post that she never used the word "rape."

"The press accounts that say she alleged rape or attempted rape are inaccurate," said attorney Paul Callan.

He declined to tell the paper what she did say. NYPD told the Post it stands by its version of events.

Jones has been suspended as WABC/Channel 7's meteorologist.

She faces a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
