MANHATTAN — The body of Mark Madoff was moved from the city morgue to the Gramercy Park Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, a spokeswoman from the medical examiner's office said.

Madoff had been in the morgue since Saturday, when his body was found hanging by a dog leash in his Manhattan apartment while his 2-year-old son slept in the next room.

A woman who answered the phone at the funeral home tuesday said she had no information about funeral details.

Madoff's mother, Ruth, reportedly blamed his suicide on the shame brought by his father Bernie Madoff, who was arrested two years ago for running one of the largest Ponzi schemes in history. Mark Madoff was the one who turned his father in after he admitted the scam to his sons.

The elder Madoff has said through his lawyer that he will not attempt to attend his son's funeral.
