MANHATTAN — Police are hunting for a man they say burglarized 16 Harlem apartments during a five-month crime spree.

The man, described as Hispanic with a thin build and black, curly hair, targets apartments between West 126th Street and West 130th Street from Amsterdam Avenue to Saint Nicholas Avenue, according to police.

He started his spree on July 22 and has hit two to four apartments per month since, the NYPD said.

His most recent burglary was a double where he hit apartments at 420 W. 130 St. and 464 W. 126 St. just hours apart on Monday, Dec. 6.

The suspect often climbs into homes via a window, frequently during the morning hours of 8 to 9:30, and snatches electronics, jewelry, liquor, clothing and cash, police said.

Police have released a sketch of the man who they describe as 15 to 20 years old and about 5 feet 9 inches tall.

They ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, or www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
