MIDTOWN — A fire broke out in the building of a Garment District clothing company early Wednesday morning.

New City Fashion, located on the 11th floor of 252 West 37th Street, was engulfed in smoke about 5:05 a.m. when a ventilation fan in the company’s workshop caught on fire.

About 65 firefighters responded to the scene and got the fire under control by 6:10 a.m., according to the FDNY. No one was injured in the fire.

The water firefighters used to put out the blaze poured down the elevator shafts 11 stories, creating a pool of water in the lobby of the building.
