MANHATTAN — The holiday weekend came to a tragic end for a woman who was seriously injured after being hit by a livery cab on a Midtown sidewalk Sunday night, police said.

The 58-year-old woman was attempting to cross East 42nd Street when she was struck by a 2005 Lincoln Town Car at about 10:30 p.m., police said. The cab jumped a curb after making the turn onto 42nd Street from Third Avenue.

The woman was identified as Maria Hermosa Jimenez, the New York Post reported.

EMS workers rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital where she is in critical condition, according to police.

The driver was identified by the paper as Dave St. Bernard, 53, of Brooklyn. Police gave Bernard a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, the Post reported.

Police said the unidentified woman was hit while standing on the sidewalk.
