SOHO — A pair of thieves pepper-sprayed a woman to steal her purse in SoHo last week, police said.

The 27-year-old victim, a lower Manhattan resident, was walking at Grand and Mercer streets about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 when two women stopped her to ask directions.

As the victim turned the corner with the women, they grabbed her purse from behind, squirted pepper-spray into her eyes and fled, police said.

The victim lost a $20 wallet, $60 in cash and credit cards.

Police are seeking the two attackers, both described as black and 25-years-old. One was described as 5-feet-5-inches tall with long straight hair, and the other was described as 5-feet-7-inches tall, wearing a black jumpsuit.
