MANHATTAN — Less than a day after Rihanna rocked Times Square, country music star Keith Urban played a surprise show at Penn Station right in the middle of Tuesday's morning commute, according to published reports.

Dressed in black, Urban — better known to some as Nicole Kidman's husband — played a 30-minute set on a pop-up stage where a group of fans and unsuspecting commuters were able to get close to the star, according to the New York Post.

It was an appropriate setting for an event promoting "Get Closer," Urban's new album that was released on Tuesday.

Urban had good things to say about the nontraditional venue.

"Good acoustics … it was cool," he said of Penn Station, according to FOX411 Country. "I've never played a train station before."

After the set, Urban hopped a train for Philadelphia, where he repeated the stunt at 30th Street Station.
