MANHATTAN — Jay-Z will be in a "New York State of Mind" Monday when he appears at the New York Public Library to discuss his new book, "Decoded."

The rapper and activist will partner with author and professor Cornel West at the library's Celeste Bartos Forum  to discuss the autobiography he's been promoting with clues left for fans on his Twitter account.

"Jay's from this hood son," his Twitter account said Saturday. "Where they ball and breed rhyme stars. Head there."

The Brooklyn-born rapper, who has been giving away signed pages of his book as part of the promotion, is expected to draw gigantic crowds to the institution at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street.

"Jay-Z is super popular," library worker Elaine Charnov told the News. "There's a lot of energy there."

Jay-Z is joining a superstar list of speakers that have appeared at the Library this season, including Rolling Stones' rocker Keith Richards, singer Elvis Costello and author Toni Morrison.

"We're doing the new and unexpected," Charnov told the News.
