MANHATTAN — Enjoy that extra hour of sleep, Daylight Saving ends this weekend.

Manhattanites should remember to "fall back" by setting their clocks back an hour starting at 2 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to changing their clocks, the FDNY urged New Yorkers to change their smoke alarm batteries as well.

The FDNY along with Spider-Man and the department's mascot, Hot Dog, were at the Times Square Hilton on Friday handing out batteries and reminding New Yorkers to switch out those AAs.

"Like our firefighters, Spiderman saves lives everyday," FDNY commissioner Salvatore Cassano told a group of students from Sacred Heart of Jesus Elementary School. "There's a simple thing you can do to save lives: change the batteries in your home's smoke and carbon monoxide detectors twice a year when you change the clocks for Daylight Savings Time."

The superhero and the mascot then used a fire truck to turn back the Hilton's clock.

The switch will give everyone — including runners in the NYC Marathon — an extra hour of sleep but also means night time will come even earlier as we head into the winter months.

New Yorkers won't have to adjust their clocks until Daylight Saving begins again on March 13, 2011.
