MANHATTAN — Police are on the hunt for three suspects in an attempted armed robbery last Friday at a jewelery store in Midtown's Diamond District.

The three men entered Joseph's Gold and Diamond Corp. at West 47th Street between 5th and 6th avenues at 11 a.m. under the guise that they were selling jewelry and then tried to rob the store at gunpoint, according to police.

Once inside the store, one of the three male suspects showed a gun to one of the victims, according to police.

The suspect dropped the gun after a struggle with one of the male victims. All three suspects then ran out of the store empty-handed, police said.

Two of the suspects were described as black males in their 20's. One had black hair and was wearing a black cap and a jacket, and the other was wearing a black skull cap, a dark-colored shirt and light-colored jeans, according to police.

The other suspect is described as Hispanic male in his 20's, wearing a black baseball cap, a gray shirt and dark-colored jeans, police said.
