INWOOD — A man is in stable condition after he was stabbed on an A train subway platform in Inwood Monday afternoon.

The 40-year-old victim was taken from the 207th Street subway platform to Harlem Hospital at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Monday, police said.

The victim was allegedly attacked while exiting the northbound A train platform near the 211th Street exit of the station, police said. NYPD described the attacker as a Hispanic male wearing a beige coat.

The suspect was seen fleeing north on Broadway as the victim stumbled from the subway station half way up the block to the Isham Broadway Pharmacy, according to police.

A pool of blood covered a section of the sidewalk in front of the pharmacy, between Isham and 212th streets, where pharmacy workers say he asked for help.

Hector Taveras, who works at First Class livery on the corner of Isham Street and Broadway, said workers first noticed a man limping north on Broadway. A small trail of blood led to the pharmacy where the victim ultimately collapsed, witnesses said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
